#06 - That Sinking Feeling

It rained today. A lot. I walked through it without problem, though. I love the rain. It puts a kind of gloom to everything, but it's a relaxing gloom. It's the kind of gloom that makes you want to get under a blanket, grab a controller, and play a game. It's great. Plus, nobody ever bothers you to go out somewhere. :)

A lot of people tend to stream on the weekends. I always have to make a big decision each day whether or not to attend a stream in lieu of doing something else. I went to dragonazul85's stream today. She played Silent Hill 2, a game I've never actually watched before. It looks like fun, and the theories being discussed in the chat really got me interested. I doubt I'll ever play it, but I'll definitely be attending the stream whenever she plays it again.

I recorded more REmake today. I'll probably record some more after I'm done writing this, too... although, I'm very nervous. Today I went into REmake with a lot of confidence and was very quickly shot down. The ONE puzzle I thought I could do... I couldn't. Then I had to exterminate some of the Crimson zombies that I'd set upon myself. By the time I was finished killing 2 crimson zombies, my confidence was pretty much gone. I was very, very careful for the rest of that set. I ended up quitting at the end mostly because two of my ideas failed in rapid succession. It sucked. I didn't voice my whole discouragement in the videos, and I probably won't, but... here's where I'll let this stuff out.

The fact that I'm working on GameCube stuff means I have opportunities to work on some things. I'm thinking about starting Paper Mario 2 tonight for the backlog. I know I'll be working on Resident Evil REmake for a while, so Paper Mario 2 will be a nice escape from the evil, abusive zombies... except for the fact that I've never beaten Paper Mario 2. I got to the Final Boss... once... barely. I pretty much took like, 5-6 tries for all of the late-game bosses, and random encounters were just like, INSANE. I'll still have fun with that one. I love a lot of the parts of Paper Mario 2... Now that I'm thinking about it... that's totally being started tonight. Hands down. xD

Thinking about it now, I think I will try to use this game's version of Tattle on each enemy. I think you actually get something special for doing so. That means I have to get my bonking (yep, hint hint!) down to an art for this one.

I'm getting nervous about REmake. I really, REALLY don't want to ask for help, but the thought of it feels so good. I'll take some deep breaths tomorrow and give it a shot... but that's all I can do, I suppose. For now, I'll calm myself down with some nice Paper Mario 2 and perhaps a bowl of ramen.
